Code of Conduct
Amgen’s standards for compliant behavior are described within the Code of Conduct. Amgen expects every staff member, consultant, contract worker and temporary staff member to conduct business ethically and in compliance with all applicable laws.
Compliance with the law and with Amgen policies when dealing with fellow Amgen staff members or contingent workers, our customers, our suppliers, the patients who receive our products, government agencies that regulate our business and our competitors is an essential component of the Code of Conduct. Our Business Conduct Standards are designed to provide two important tools to help ensure that we continue to always follow the Code of Conduct in our business practices. First, they provide individuals with various avenues for reporting information about suspected illegal or unethical conduct or practices occurring within the workplace. Second, they describe and provide general information regarding certain major areas of the law that Amgen staff members, and often consultants, contract workers and temporary staff, should be aware of in performing work for or on behalf of Amgen.
Every individual who conducts business for or on behalf of Amgen is required to follow all applicable laws and Amgen policies and to exert due diligence in preventing and detecting violations of such laws and policies. Individuals may be found personally liable for violations of the law, and supervisors may be found liable for violations committed by staff members under their supervision. If Amgen determines that a staff member has violated applicable laws or policies, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken, up to and including immediate termination of employment, to the extent permitted by local laws. Amgen reserves the right to take whatever disciplinary measure(s) it determines in its sole discretion to be appropriate in any particular situation. Nothing on these pages changes the at-will nature of employment at Amgen, its affiliates or subsidiaries, where applicable.
