Compliance with all applicable environmental regulations is a priority at Amgen. To achieve this, internal audits are routinely performed at all our sites including manufacturing, research and development, and distribution facilities. Reports and action plans generated from audits are shared with a global team of environmental professionals who make sure appropriate corrective actions are implemented across the company.

Amgen is committed to taking timely and comprehensive corrective actions in response to all notices of violation (NOVs). In 2010, Amgen received three environmental NOVs as a result of 89 regulatory inspections, primarily in the area of wastewater management. None of these resulted in monetary fines and all have been corrected.
