Non-Discrimination and Harassment Free Workplace

Amgen is committed to fostering a diverse workforce and a culture of inclusion. A diverse workforce with varied backgrounds strengthens Amgen by creating an environment receptive to new ideas and innovation.

Behavior that amounts to unlawful discrimination or harassment violates Amgen’s policies and the Amgen Values. Amgen will not tolerate unlawful harassment by or toward staff members, or non-employees with whom Amgen has a business, service or professional relationship. Unlawful harassment does not refer only to sex or sexual harassment*, but also harassment based on race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability or any other basis prohibited under applicable law.

Any Amgen staff member who suspects unlawful discrimination should immediately contact Amgen’s Corporate EEO/AA Compliance Office at 805-447-1999 or an Area Human Resources Manager. Staff members may also contact the Business Conduct Hotline (888-376-5574) or the Ombudsperson. Staff members who raise good faith complaints about unlawful discrimination will not be subjected to retaliation.

Similar laws against discrimination apply in countries other than the U.S. Amgen staff members are instructed in the policies in effect at their location to request guidance from their supervisor, the compliance representative with responsibility for their geographic area, the EU Director of Compliance, or the Chief Compliance Officer, as appropriate.

*Each Amgen staff member in the U.S. has received a memorandum from the company’s Chief Executive Officer detailing the Company’s anti-harassment policy, and each staff member in California has also received a pamphlet prepared by the State of California regarding sexual harassment. Any U.S. staff member who has not received these documents should immediately contact their Human Resources Business Partner. Recipients should carefully review and understand these documents.
