Tracy L. Bailey-Gates
North Smithfield Jr.-Sr. High School
North Smithfield, RI

Tracy teaches grades 10-12 at North Smithfield Jr.-Sr. High School, North Smithfield, RI. Tracy has been teaching science for 17 years. She currently teaches biology, honors physiology, and honors advanced biology. Tracy received the Outstanding Biology Teacher Award in Rhode Island from the National Association of Biology Teachers in 2001; she was the State Level Awardee of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching from the National Science Foundation in 1999 and 2001; and has been on the Commissioner of Education’s Distinguished Educator List since 1999. Tracy received a BS in Biology from Boston College and an MA in Science Education from the University of Rhode Island.

 
 

Gennaro Ferraro
Burrillville High School
Harrisville, RI

Gennaro has been teaching science for eight years. He currently teaches classes in general science and biology, including AP Biology, Biochemistry, and Applied Physics. He was the recipient of a Growth Initiative For Teachers Award in 2000, and is the recipient of several science and technology grants. Gennaro earned a BS in Secondary Education and an MA in Education from the University of Rhode Island, and in 2003 earned a Lifetime Teaching Certificate in general science and biology from the Rhode Island Department of Education.
