A series of severe storms and tornadoes recently killed hundreds of people in seven southern U.S. states, reduced neighborhoods to rubble and caused damage at levels the country has not seen since Hurricane Katrina.

The Amgen Foundation has made a $50,000 donation to the American Red Cross to assist with the disaster relief and recovery efforts. The Red Cross provides shelter, hot meals, comfort kits, cleanup supplies, and items for child and infant care to disaster victims in this time of need.
