CR Magazine Names Amgen to List of 100 Best Corporate Citizens

Providing further evidence of Amgen’s progress in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine, a leading CSR publication, has named Amgen to its 17th annual list of 100 Best Corporate Citizens. CR Magazine conducts its analysis of all Russell 1000 companies using publicly available information, such as annual reports, sustainability reports, and CDP reports. CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project) is an organization devoted to public reporting of environmental performance data; its report provides information on carbon emissions and water conservation.

Placement on the list is recognition not only of Amgen’s CSR performance, but its transparency and reporting as well. CR Magazine’s methodology examines disclosure, policy, and performance in seven categories:

  • Climate change
  • Employee relations
  • Environmental
  • Financial
  • Governance
  • Human rights
  • Philanthropy and Community support

CR Magazine designs its methodology, in collaboration with the Corporate Responsibility Association (CRA), to be an objective, fact-based evaluation of corporate accountability and responsibility.  An advisory committee that includes CSR practitioners, academics, NGOs, and investment firms develops the methodology for the list, ensuring that the evaluation represents a variety of stakeholder perspectives.
