Pro Golfer and Psoriatic Arthritis Patient Phil Mickelson Featured in PARADE
Phil Mickelson

In this week’s PARADE magazine, professional golfer Phil Mickelson talks about the personal and professional hurdles he has endured over the past few years, including his wife's and mother’s breast cancer diagnoses, as well as his own diagnosis with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Since then, he has entered into a partnership with Amgen and Pfizer to share his experience with psoriatic arthritis and to encourage patients with similar symptoms to visit their doctor for proper assessment and care.

Psoriatic arthritis is a form of arthritis caused by an overactive immune system that can affect not only the body's joints but also the skin. Approximately 600,000 Americans may have psoriatic arthritis. The main joint symptoms of psoriatic arthritis are pain, stiffness, and swelling. Rheumatoid arthritis patients experience similar symptoms, however there are distinct differences between the two conditions, making it important to see a doctor.

PARADE is the most widely read magazine in America with a circulation of 32.2 million and a reach of more than 74 million Americans every week.
