Prolia™ (denosumab) Receives Approval in Switzerland
and Canada
Amgen is pleased to announce that Prolia™ (denosumab) has been approved in two additional countries this week.
Swissmedic issued marketing authorization for Prolia™ in Switzerland for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women for prevention of vertebral and non vertebral fractures. In Switzerland Prolia also received approval for the concomitant treatment of women with breast cancer undergoing adjuvant therapy with aromatase inhibitors and concomitant treatment of men with prostate carcinoma undergoing hormone ablation therapy who are at increased risk of fracture.
In addition, Health Canada approved Prolia™ for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk for fracture, defined as a history of osteoporotic fracture, or multiple risk factors for fracture; or patients who have failed or are intolerant to other available osteoporosis therapy.
Amgen looks forward to offering Prolia™ in these countries as well as the other countries in which it is now approved.
