Amgen Scholars Annual Report Highlights Student Potential

The 2011 Amgen Scholars Program Annual Report, produced in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Cambridge, provides an in-depth look at the Amgen Foundation’s signature program to inspire the next generation of scientists from across the United States and Europe.

Through an eight-year, $34 million commitment from the Amgen Foundation, Amgen Scholars provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on science research at some of the world’s leading universities. The nearly 1,500 Amgen Scholar alumni have represented 389 colleges and universities across 50 U.S. states and 42 different countries. To date, nearly 90 percent of Amgen Scholar alumni who have completed their undergraduate studies are now pursuing an advanced degree or a career in science or engineering.
