Yen-Sin joined Amgen in 2017 to pursue early target discovery in the department of Cardiometabolic Disorders. His current research focuses on the characterization of novel genetically validated targets regulating patho-mechanisms of atrial fibrillation and heart failure. He has a strong interest to integrate systems biology with genome-edited pluripotent stem cells, bioengineering technologies and mouse models to better understand human disease; which is required to develop innovative medicines to serve patients. Apart from drug discovery, Yen-Sin is passionate about training the next generation of biomedical scientists and is presently a co-mentor with UCSF faculty, Dr. Vasanth Vedantham. Together, they are investigating the architecture and function of the sinoatrial node in the regulation of cardiac rhythm and contractility.
