The Amgen Tour of California is America’s largest road cycling race and will bring the drama and excitement of professional cycling to California for the 11th consecutive year. The Tour de France-style eight day stage event, created and presented by AEG, will challenge the world’s top professional cycling teams to compete along a demanding course from May 15-22, 2016.
For the first time, the Amgen Breakaway from Heart Disease Women’s Race empowered with SRAM will run simultaneously May 19-22 as the first North American stage race of the inaugural UCI Women’s WorldTour.

Amgen’s Breakaway from Heart Disease™ campaign was created as a complementary component to the Amgen Tour of California. The campaign urges Americans to find out about their family history heart disease and get active through cycling. Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana has joined forces with Amgen, the American Heart Association (AHA) and Schwinn to help make America’s heart health a priority.
