Update on Change Healthcare Cyberattack

Change Healthcare, one of the country’s largest insurance claim processing clearinghouses, reported a cyber security issue that has caused major disruptions to provider and pharmacy operations. Change Healthcare provides prescription claims and co-pay card processing services. In some cases, patients have not been able to receive their prescription or have their manufacturer co-pay card support processed. Our priority is to ensure patients have access to their medicines and we are closely monitoring the situation.

What Is Amgen Doing?

Amgen is committed to our mission to serve patients.

We have created solutions to help patients access their medications. We are also actively engaged with pharmacies and members of the healthcare community to help support patient continuity of care.

Co-Pay Cards for Commercially Insured Patients

To support commercially insured patients, our co-pay vendor has moved to a new co-pay card processor. This will enable pharmacies to run Amgen co-pay card claims.

You may use the same co-pay card that you used before the Change Healthcare system outage. If your pharmacy has trouble getting your Amgen co-pay card claim to process, you may need to confirm that your pharmacy has the new RxBIN number “019158” and the new PCN identifier “CNRX.”

Note, AIMOVIG® co-pay card claims will be processed by the new processor beginning Monday, March 25th. AIMOVIG® patients will be able to resume using their co-pay card starting on that date.

Direct Manual Reimbursement

Amgen offers direct manual reimbursement for a number of Amgen medications including TEZSPIRE®*, ENBREL®, OTEZLA®, REPATHA®, AIMOVIG®, and CORLANOR®. Direct manual reimbursement enables commercially insured patients to pay for their medication out-of-pocket, submit and request reimbursement from Amgen. To be eligible, the patient must be enrolled in an Amgen co-pay card program and have an approved prior authorization on file at their pharmacy.

You can learn more about Direct Manual Reimbursement here.

eVoucher Program at Participating Retail Pharmacies

Commercially insured patients experiencing issues accessing co-pay support for REPATHA®, OTEZLA®, and AIMOVIG® at retail pharmacies may be able to access temporary co-pay support at participating pharmacies which can be found here: eVoucherRX. Patient out-of-pocket cost may differ depending on a variety of factors including the medication and insurance provider.
